About

Erryn Pratt, CEO

At the young age of 13, Erryn began self-teaching herself Spanish with books, watching television in Spanish, and practicing writing in Spanish with pen pals from all over Latin America.  Erryn posses the gift of a photographic memory and the ability to mimic sounds/expressions/actions heard and seen that have helped her develop her language skills.

Learning Spanish started as a hobby but soon became a growing passion. By the age of 16, Erryn was active in the Hispanic community in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Practicing her Spanish on a daily basis, improving and refining her Spanish fluency by speaking with natives from Spanish speaking countries that lived and worked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. By age 22, she began facilitating her own, specially designed Spanish classes including her own phonetic system, to ensure accuracy of pronunciation paired with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques that she implemented in her classes. The classes were private for about a year, seeing the growing interest from clients to learn Spanish was motivating.

Having studied Psychology as her major, and a French minor at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, she never thought that she would become a teacher. But, soon Erryn realized that her real talent is having a knack for languages.

A private Spanish student of Erryn’s mentioned to her that in the town of Greendale, Wisconsin, they were seeking a Spanish instructor. Erryn and applied and based on her Spanish proficiency and college background she was appointed the position. In 2009, Erryn began offering her Spanish classes to kids and adults in the evenings. Within in a month, she was also approached to offer her classes in Muskego, Wisconsin. After a few years, Erryn also began offering French classes to kids and adults resulting in a total of eight years of teaching experience for both cities.

After a couple of years teaching Spanish, one of her Spanish students brought to her attention that it would be a great idea to teach English to Spanish speakers. In the same unique methods she uses to teach Spanish and French, the methods are flipped to teach English. Her English classes soon became a hit and many of her English students enjoyed the added insight from knowing, in depth, their native language, Spanish.  They also enjoyed the convenience of Erryn being available to come to their home or office, accommodating many Hispanics’ busy work schedules.

Showing dedication and determination to her students, and having achieved language success with thousands of students, Erryn knew it was time to move on to bigger and better opportunities.

In 2017, Erryn began offering and teaching her English and Spanish classes at various companies in Milwaukee, Cedarburg, and Racine. Offering as well, translation services for communication between employees and upper management, bridging the gaps.

Erryn has had the dream and vision of opening her own business for language classes and to travel the world with her students. Each day she has been focused, moving closer and closer to achieving her goals and dreams, by reaching many clients and groups where they are in their lives. Hence, the latest creation of Empower Language, a stepping stone to make her vision a reality.
